Warrior Wednesday: Discipline, Hard work, & challenges

WARRIOR WEDNESDAY

If you’re new here, every Wednesday we share a powerful quote from a warrior or philosopher, and breakdown how to apply it to your life.

Lets dive in:

Am I disciplined and hardworking, do I push myself? It's a question I often ask myself. If you’re struggling with this the good news is your already on the right track.

But here’s a framework I use that has helped:

Discipline is about proving to yourself that you are who you say you are. Momentum makes it easier to keep going, but building that initial push is the hardest part. Every time you hit the gym, wake up early, or face discomfort, you add a nugget of proof to your "discipline pile." Over time, this pile grows—but there's a way to accelerate it.

Taking on one-time, extremely difficult challenges (10x-100x harder than your norm) gives you a level of proof nothing else can. (Think David Goggins’ 4x4x48 challenge or running an ultramarathon)

When you do this you get to add a massive bowling ball sized chunk to your discipline pile.

It makes it a lot harder to doubt yourself when you have that in your back pocket.

This week, plan one challenge that pushes you way past your limits. Show yourself what you're made of. -Reply to this email and let us know what your challenge is

BY THE WAY: We are working on a new challenge of our own based around both physical training (Warrior) + mental training (Philosopher). If you choose to attempt it, you’d be connected with other guys with similar interests and goals, along with a group to hold each other accountable as we challenge ourselves. If you’re interested reply to this email and let us know.
