In this email I am going to explain why you probably haven’t changed your life that much.
The problem? Self improvement content. The cure? MORE SELF IMPROVEMENT CONTENT (ha)
In reality, a lot of us use this kind of content as mental masturbation. Part the problem is that while it makes you feel good because you are learning, just consuming it doesn't actually improve you.
If you’re anything like me, this is your typical self-improvement content habit:
Watch a cool video/motivational edit/rewatch that one video you love (Mine)
Feel like you can conquer the world. You’re the next Alexander The Great!
Move on with your day
Cool, you are improving yourself…Right? Wrong.
You haven’t actually done anything. We’ve just turned self improvement content into entertainment.
If you’d like the change that there’s a simple fix. Switch number three to:
Take massive action
In the moment this should be simple because we just got a big hit of motivation from the content. Don’t depend on this hit as fuel, it runs out quick, use it as the spark to ignite you into action. It’s a lot easier to continue pushing forward once you’ve already started.
If you want to apply my theory, after reading this email you need to take some kind of action. Because in case you haven’t noticed, this email counts as self improvement content.
Get out there and conquer the world today. You got this.
